STARSkate and Adult STARSkate offers skaters of all ages the opportunity to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skills, free skate, and artistic skating.
***Please note that the information below is based on the 2022/2023 season in which we hope to bring back in the future, location dependent***
Pre-STARSkate Program: As skaters transition from CanSkate to figure skating, the Elliot Lake Skating Club’s Pre-STARSkate Program offers twice-weekly 50-minute sessions during which skaters are engaged in structured group lessons.
STARSkate Program: As skaters develop their skills, the Elliot Lake Skating Club’s STARSkate Program offers twice-weekly 80-minute sessions. For the Tuesday session, skaters are engaged in small group lessons for a minimum of 55 minutes, with the remaining time for independent practice. For the Thursday session, skaters will have 15 minutes of group instruction followed by more independent practice time during which private and/or semi-private lessons are available through a certified Skate Canada coach. Private lessons are arranged directly with Club coaches, and they are invoiced separately; lessons are offered in ten (10) or fifteen (15) minute periods, and our professional coaches can recommend options tailored to the skater’s goals and development.
