CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program. Whether you are looking to learn basic skating skills for figure skating, hockey, ringette, speed skating, or just for fun, the CanSkate program can help you develop basic skills.

CanSkate is delivered by a certified NCCP/Skate Canada coach, and assisted by trained on-ice volunteers.

CanSkate is offered to skaters ages 4 and up. If your child is under the age of 4, please contact us through email or Facebook to discuss options.

Volunteering as a Program Assistant

Are you looking for a way to give back to the community while supporting youth development and active living? Do you need volunteer hours for high school? The ELSC is recruiting volunteer Program Assistants for the CanSkate Program.
Requirements:

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• A pair of hockey or figure skates
• Ability to skate backwards and forwards
• Ability to commit to 90 minutes once weekly (Oct-Mar)

Training and insurance are provided. Join us for a fun and rewarding season!
